About Us

Quantum Electro Opto Systems (QEOS) Sdn. Bhd., which was formed in 2008, is one of the early adopters and beneficiaries of Malaysia's government decades old effort to push for disruptive technology. QEOS, now a group of companies, has a connectivity technology portfolio that includes more than 50 patents applied and awarded worldwide, connecting people, power and data connectivity technology.

Founders

Dr Gabriel Walter
Prof. Nick Holonyak Jr.
Prof. Milton Feng

Founded in 2008 by three researchers from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to pioneer the commercial development of high speed, low cost and power efficient fiber optics communication solutions based on the Tilted Charge Dynamics™ technology platform. QEOS founders include distinguished inventor Professor Nick Holonyak Jr., who is widely regarded as the inventor of the Light Emitting Diode (LED) and has invented many other inventions that have enabled much of the opto-electronics industry as we know it today.

Technology

The Tilted Charge Dynamics™ technology forms the core of the QEOS multi-gigabit, low cost, low power consumption technology. By utilizing commercial GaAs-HBT foundry facilities and processes, QEOS is able to quickly scale volume production and enable sophisticated, customizable solutions that could integrate optical, electronics and RF wireless functions into a single chip.

QEOS technology enables the use of its applications for data centers, for supercomputing, factory floor smart cities and rural electrification. It can also address consumer and commercial market applications for LED Lightings, Solar energy solutions, UHD Displays and Surveillance systems. These are high volume, high value markets that offer major growth opportunities for the company.

Timeline

Chip Level: 2008

QEOS begins its research advancing LET technology from laboratory research scale at the chip level which resulted the development of the worlds fastest and reliable LET which was successfully commercialized.

Module Level: 2011

QEOS begins Research, Design and development at Module level, integrating its LET chip into a transmitter module. This resulted in forming a complete receiving module which allowed for the development of the transceiver kit (transmitter & receiving) for optical link architecture. Clearly succeeding at module level.

System Level: 2013

QEOS technology matures to a system level, incorporating all its knowledge in data connectivity into namely, its LED lighting, UHD commercial Displays and Renewable Solar Energy systems. Allowing QEOS to provide a total 24 Hour Connectivity Solution that involves high fidelity data connectivity, low power consumption and at an affordable cost.

Internet of Things (IoT): 2016

QEOS becomes a system manufacturer, positioned to provide a platform for the Internet of Things with its 24 Hour Connectivity System to connect People, Power and Data.

Vertical Farming: 2020

Our technology will disrupt traditional supply chains and alter traditional growing seasons by enabling local farming at commercial scale all-year round.
